BELLA
So I slept with Dorian.
No, not like that. Not sex. We just slept. Literally. In the same place.
His kiss felt hesitant at first. As if he thought I was a sliver of his imagination. But then, he was kissing me until my body melted against his and I thought heâd take me to bed and feast on me before we had dinner. And I wanted that. God, I had never felt so wet in my entire life, so ready. Even if Iâm a virgin, I know it would have gone smoothly just from how aroused I was.
From a kiss. How is that even possible?
But then, that whole mate thing⦠I donât know. A man like him, all big chunky muscles and gentle eyes and â Jesus Christ, that anaconda inside his pants!
That man with me? Forever? We had one date, and he made it crystal clear we were a thing. We were the real deal.
It just sounds so good. So I backed off. Just a little, just to see what he would do. After all, if he just wanted the sex, heâd be mad at me, no?
But he respected me. Dorian was perfect, from beginning to end. We cooked, then we sat down to have dinner and talked more. We plopped down on the couch and watched a movie. Couple stuff. He massaged my feet and kissed my forehead, and he just did everything right.
When I wake up in the morning, itâs to the smell of pancakes. My stomach rumbles as I turn in bed momentarily lost to my surroundings. Then last night comes back and Iâm smiling into the pillow as I remember how amazing he was. Sitting up, I check Iâm by myself in bed, still in my dress even if itâs disheveled now.
I get up and use the bathroom, doing my best to look presentable. I donât remember falling asleep, but I know we were watching a movie. Which one is the hard part. I was too preoccupied with feeling Dorian up as I snuggled into his chest.
The couch in the living room has a sheet, and a pillow dropped over it, so I know Dorian has slept in it while I used his bed. Cutest thing ever. I wouldnât have expected it, neither I would have been offended â itâs his bed after all, and itâs big enough for us to share. But it just makes him more of a gentleman.
Dorian stands by his stove in a pair of trekking pants and a white shirt that clings to his hard body. His back muscles move with his motions, and Iâm hypnotized for a moment. But this time, doubt doesnât creep up on me. I just feel⦠elated. Thankful.
Fearless.
âGood morning.â He smiles over his shoulder at me, and damn, it makes my heart goes boom.
âMorning yourself.â Iâm physically unable of keeping the smile off my face. Our eyes meet and my stomach turns. âYouâve been up for long? I have no idea of the time.â
He shakes his head as I stand by his side, watching him expertly flipping a pancake.
